I was wondering, does anyone here have any weird furry habits that come from you spending time in the fandom? Ones that you might want to share, right here in this thread?

Here's mine: whenever I read a news headline or article that concerns animals, I intentionally imagine the described situation... but with anthros, haha :D

For example, I just read the headline "Mouse plague hits WA grain farmers as numbers surge in SA: ‘You literally can’t get away from them’" and I am absolutely now imagining a bunch of anthro mice punks lounging around a grain silo. Many of them are smoking cigarettes while wearing leather jackets (but no pants) 😁
(I wonder if anyone else here does this. If anyone does, I love them!)

I don't think so🤔 I'm definitely more likely to click on videos on YouTube with some furry characters in the thumbnails tho xp
That goes without saying, furrier is betterer nodnod
I think I've been nuzzling my mom often, and I'm not even a mammalian furry
gives HUGGY RODENT FURSUIT
(because we rodents are super into physical touch, y'know. (except maybe hamsters. (unless biting counts)))

This may not be a strange habit of mine, but I no longer consume media (with the exception of some music) that doesn't have anthropomorphic characters. Every book I've read, game I've played, and movie and show I've watched in the past few years all have prominent anthro characters.
Damn, yeah I'm the SAME xP
I find it really hard to concentrate on a movie, game, comic, etc. if the characters aren't anthro or furry or feral animals, heheh! Furry things are just, so much more entertaining!!

Since German has a lot of political terms using the word "rat" (Rathaus, Bundesrat, Ständerat, etc), I always have a way to get out of silly political debates by changing the topic to rats :3

I'll have to think about this more.

The one I know for sure is that in Monster Hunter Wilds, I will not do an outfit on my main character unless I can make it with at least one of the non-human masks - the Doshaguma masks, the Rompopolo masks, or more commonly the Fake Felyne Head. And if it's the Fake Felyne Head, I will include the Fluffy Tail and the Toe Bean Mittens.

You'd be shocked how many different outfits you can still get that are coherent in that game with just two of the five "layered armor" options.

(I always use the undershirt and leggings options with this on. It actually looks like a fursuit with gear, instead of just some guy wearing a couple accessories. With some of the game's pieces - mainly the ones intended for female characters - I just can't seem to make a "partial" look right.)

Similar story with any game with a character creator. If I have any, ANY, option to not go for human or near-human designs and instead go for an anthro, I'll take it, and I'll find my own ways to justify it.

<giggles and purrs> My friend, IRL I'm a Therian cat...I have hundreds of "furry habits" that I could go on and on about...<lol>

Please do :O
Start with the weirdest ones :3

<grins and cracks his claws, taking a deep breath> Ok, let's begin with the easy tamer ones...

-Purrs and meow and snarl constantly by reflex
-Constant alert of surroundings, responding instinctively to everything.
-Lapping up water from fountains and streams.
-Sprawl in sunbeams constantly!
-Tend to move my entire head to look around rather than my eyes.
-Naturally extra-agile and graceful.
-Love high places and perches away from people, overlooking scenes rather than being in them.
-Grew my thumbnails to claws, use them constantly
-Constantly rubbing my head and hair,
-Licking my fangs (love the feel of them! More natural than my own born-with teeth)
-When wearing my tail, I love the feel of the bounce whenever I walk and it sways...like it's part of me!
-Lick any wound reflexively.
-Whenever wet like in a pool or shower, I tend to use my arms to rub against my cheeks like whiskers.
-Sniffing the air to track things.
-Smelling everything I come across.
-Tilting my head to hear things better reflexively.

<exhales slowly and blushes> As you can see, I'm a cat through and through. How's that for a start, rattums? <giggle>

That's impressively catty! :O I think you got the soul of a cat by a mistake. Or maybe it's more correct to say that you got a human body by mistake! At least you have opposable thumbs, those are pretty neat. Also you can use moneys to get foods out of a shop, you don't have to fight for them or nothing, they just give them to you! :O

Also, it's too bad that our human ape sense of smell is so crappy, I would love to be able to sniff the air in order to track things better, I guess your sense of smell is better than mine. Mine is pretty much useless, how unratty :O

I relate to this a loooooooooot!! I still really enjoy non-anthro media, but I tend to have a much higher degree of investment in anthro media.

Another thing for me, my nails grow pretty rapidly, and I tend to put off cutting them for some time partially because it adds to the canidness! 😜😜
