I think people generally go against AI for the wrong reasons. AI art is generally awful with the few exceptions being diamonds in the rough slightly below par for actual art, lost in the flood of hundreds to thousands of awful grotesque pieces. Enjoying AI art often means ignoring certain flaws or aspects of a piece. The only thing AI has over actual artists is speed and customer service, which isn't really saying much because that's not a hard thing to do better.
The real problem with AI is how it lulls people into thinking they can shut off their brains and let an algorithm do the work for them. Some of my family members have talked about using AI assistance in their work and some others I had to work with directly were running ideas through Gemini and mindlessly going with whatever it suggested.
Let AI generate all the awful flawed furry porn people want. It can scratch the itch for very niche interests and won't ever be even half as good as real art. But don't let people just outsource their brains to AI. It's lazy, dishonest, often wrong, and intellectually cheating depending on use. AI is not a substitute for the human touch.
