'New Private Message' weirdness

I just saw the title of my FurryPile browser tab change to 'New Private Message', so I came over and checked my private messages, but there weren't any.

Then I checked 'recent activity' and found that somebody had recently replied to a thread with the 'Private' tag. I had never viewed or interacted with that thread, but the activity corresponded to the approximate time when I received the 'New Private Message'.

Possibly a bug?

I suppose it's possible, but I never go into the chat room and regularly get 'private message' alerts. This would only make sense it it's still telling me about messages that are months old.

I've had the same issue only to find out it's a random DM in the chat from like months ago lol. Is why I asked
