First Lady Jill Biden rocks a panda fursuit at a White House Trick-or-Treat event! Is she secretly one of us, perhaps?
Nice looking panda costume 
It's a definite possibility, after all, she picked that outfit over something not looking like a fursuit. Could also be she has the tendency without knowing about Furdom. When I was 8, Mother wanted to make for me a spaceman outfit. I insisted on going out as a flying fox, or not going out at all. I always went Trick 'r Treating in an animal costume, and that was years before there was even a Furry Fandom, the term, Fursona, hadn't been coined, Confurence 0 was far into the future.
If you could see me then, now, you'd definitely conclude: Furry

I guess it's the same reason people made movies like the 1973 Robin Hood back in the day. Anthropomorphic animals have always been ingrained into us, just look at sports mascots. I remember the crew of Jackass once visited Tokyo in panda costumes, just because it was funny. Granted - in today's age, perhaps the choice of a panda costume is a little strange, but I can certainly see the simple ignorance of the fandom itself, or not really taking furries into account. It's Halloween, it's a time of costumes. Pandas are adorable, so...panda costume. Not the smartest choice for publicity, but - I don't put stupidity past anyone remotely associated with politics or families of politicians. Really I don't put stupidity past humans in general, but some are more prone than others. It's just a panda costume in the end. May as well argue that people who wear mascot costumes are Furries. I don't see the point in seeking outside validation.

I agree with Yaka on this one. It seems like any form of anthromorphic animal thing now, everyone goes "hurr durr furry" when that's not really the case. There's way more behind the actual meaning of being a furry.
For one of the games I play, Deep Rock Galactic, they did a Halloween event that added a werewolf mask and everyone says they're trying to appeal to the furries. Even though werewolfs have been around for basically centuries or something along those lines. It's a well-known mythological fantasy thing, it's not a furry thing.
To further add to this, if anthro characters are all it takes to be a "furry", then why don't anti-furs ever criticize all the sports mascots at every game, or the last 100 years now of Disney characters? So why do they get all get a pass when they're anthro animals too? It's an argument I've seen many anti-furs make, and yet they never talk about that.
I dunno, overall the whole thing's just kinda ridiculous.

That's kind of awkward if you're prevy to international politics with, say, the second biggest economy in the world, China has for a long time laid claims on every single panda on earth. https://www.reuters.com/world/china/what-is-chinas-panda-diplomacy-how-does-it-work-2024-06-18/ You'd think Mr 10% would know that.
I was really just being facetious about Jill being a furry, right before Halloween and all. But I do trace one of my furry roots to my cheesy old Ben Cooper leopard Halloween costume that I loved wearing as a kid…
