I've met Aurora!

Dang it, I didn't even know anything is happening! Well, there's probably too much light pollution here to see anything anyway...

I've seen auroras a couple of times when I was in Sweden, I agree it's amazing sight.

Anyone else see the solar storm yesterday? I was outside all night just amazed once I waited long enough for the clouds to part...

Yeah, we gave it a go for a few hours. Didn't light the fire, just chilled out (The weather is very nice atm), talking and looking skyward.
For the most part, the 'Show' was very fuzzy/hazy, so we didn't get any clear lines or distinct colouring, but we saw enough to know it was going on.

Nothing visible here. Guess at these latitudes, it must be relatively weak and as I said, the viewing conditions I've got aren't good. I can see on the web that people not too far away managed to take pictures with long exposure though.

Missed it because of the usual cloud cover. I can say I did have the chance to see an aurora back in the early 1980s while living in Massachusetts . I was standing outdoors talking to a friend and one of my sisters. It was a very clear night. Movement in the sky caught my eye and I looked up. The entire sky was filled with the moving curtains of colorful lights. It was the most amazing thing I ever witnessed. The three of us went to neighbors and it was a big to do for some time.
